Fun at our Spring Forum!

You might be able to tell from my posts so far that I absolutely love my job!  One of my favourite things that we do all year, is when we get together with our First Impressions Consultants to share ideas, hear from inspirational consultants and learn from great speakers.  Yesterday was our Spring Forum.  Here’s what we got up to!

Elinor WElinor Wilde a psychologist, coach, writer, mum and the founder of The Working Mums Coach. She runs individual and group programmes to help you carve out your own path to successfully combine work and family life that works for you. You’ll stop feeling so stretched, torn and guilty and instead you’ll smile more, feel happier and know you are being an even better parent. She regularly delivers workshops on how to successfully combine work and family life, how to manage your time and how to parent YOUR way. She also runs individual and group programmes for organisations who want to provide greater support for working parents.

She was a fantastic speaker and shared some great exercises with us on how to improve our work/life balance.

Our second speaker was the lovely Sally Harper-Kenn from Sharper Millinery.  Creating hats and headpieces, is Sally’s vocation and she has experimented with colours and fabrics since a young age. She owns up to being a ‘bit of a magpie’, as she loves collecting vintage jewellery, sumptuous fabrics and delicate trims, giving her the opportunity to create something truly unique; whether it’s for a bridal veil, a special occasion hat or a racing headpiece.
Over the last couple of years she has been experimenting with new blocking techniques as well as trying new ways of creating wonderful hats and headpieces to give you a greater selection of styles to choose from.

Having won several top awards for her millinery, she is ever progressing within the wedding and craft industries; awards have included: Best Regional Accessory in The Wedding Industry Awards 2012 and Silver Award in Craft & Design Selected 2011/12.

We all had great fun trying on Sally’s fabulous creations.  We all want a wedding invitation to pop through our letterbox now so we have an excuse to commission our own hat!  Sally talked us through designing and making hats – very interesting – thank you Sally!

I then interviewed one of our very successful consultants – Kathryn Clarke, pictured below right, along with Joanna Gaudoin and Vicky Hill.

We had lots of sharing, lots of fun and everyone left inspired and motivated for the rest of the spring/summer season.  I can’t wait until our our Autumn Forum – thanks everyone!

Wishing you a great weekend
