Ultimate Blog Challenge

Ultimate Blog Challenge – Day 1

Well, here goes!  I have been thinking about blogging for some time.  So what has stopped me?  My blog isn’t set up, I don’t know how to blog, will it be good enough, can I write enough?  Oh my Goodness, I’m boring myself now!  Yes, you guessed it, I was aiming for perfection before getting started.  I saw the Ultimate Blog Challenge and impulsively signed up.  Thank you Harriet Stack for inspiring me to take action.  I decided that this would be a great way to stop procrastinating, just get on with it and learn as I go.  It certainly won’t be perfect, but it will be from the heart, authentic and real.

I recently saw Sarah Speake – Strategic Marketing Director at Google and one of her points was that 90% is good enough.  In a world where we are all busy and life seems to move at a faster pace than ever before, if we strive for perfection we run the risk of either burning out or not doing anything at all.

In the spirit of getting on with it, taking action, however imperfect, over the next 30 days I shall aim to share my thoughts on life, mindset, image, goals, communication and any other general musings that pop into my head.

I shall look forward to sharpening my blogging skills – please feel free to ask questions, give feedback and generally join in!

Happy Easter

  2. Hi Lyn, well done for taking the plunge! I love what you say about perfection; perfectionism stops so many of us from doing anything at all. These days I try to take imperfect action and avoid thinking about it too much once I’ve done it! Really looking forward to reading your posts throughout the month.
